MISSION BHAGIRATHA – GRID

PALAIR WARANGAL SEGMENT

The Government of Telangana has taken up the water Grid program (Mission Bhaghiratha Program) as a flag ship item to provide safe drinking water to all rural and urban people at 100 lpcd to rural households and 135 lpcd in municipality areas.

As a part of Programme Palair segment is proposed in Mahabubabad District 14 mandal’s of Dornakal, Mahabubabad, Palakurthy and Mulugu constituencies also 4 Municipalities (ULB) i.e, Mahabubabad, Dornakal, Maripeda and Thorrur from Palair reservoir in Khammam District as a source.

Raw Water Source

Palair Reservoir

 

Intake Well:

Intake well at Palair reservoir of Khammam District is being executed under Khammam segment scope with provision of pumping of raw water to Warangal palair segment from it.

Power and Pump sets at Intake well:

The pump sets of 724 HP each (4 working and 2 stand by) provided at Palair Intake well and the power requirement is 2.16 MW for raw water pumping.

            For clear water pumping 46 working and 28 Stand by pump sets were provided at intermediate pumping stations with power requirement 5.804 MW

Pumping Main:

Raw water pumping main of 1700 mm dia from Intake well at Palair reservoir to 170MLD WTP at Abbaipalem total length is 21.25 Km is completed and commissioned.

Awareness Program:

 Awareness programs are also being conducting with the Mandal level public representatives and Government officials to create the awareness about the usage of the Mission Bhagiratha drinking water. As part of this, awareness was conducted on Dec 30th 2019 at Maripeda  Abbaipalem (WTP) village, for Thorrur, Peddavangara, Rayaparthy Mandals along with all the public representatives and mandal level officials.

Habitation Coverage:  

Palair Warangal Segment is covering 14 Mandals of Mahabubabad District including 1 Old and 3 New ULBs and for the remaining habitations bulk water is being supplied from Godavari – Dummugudem and HMWSS segments. Constituency wise habitation coverage is given below:

Pipeline Details:  

Total 1803.36 KMs pipe line of various types and dia meters was laid to connect and supply of water to all the rural and urban habitations under Palair Warangal segment of Mahabubabad district.

Bulk supply Status of Educational Institutions:   

Bulk supply connections were given to 78 Schools out of total 80 Schools and the remaining are pending due to lack of storage tanks at schools.
