  The following schemes are being implemented in Backward Classes Development Department in Mahabubabad District.

1. PRE-MATRIC HOSTELS:

There are (8) Prematric hostels are functioning in the District, (6) are Boys Hostels and (2) are Girls Hostels with a Sanctioned strength of (100) boarders in each hostel.

The eligibility criteria for admission into a Pre-Matric Hostel are mentioned below.

  • The students shall be studying Class-III to Class-X.
  • The students shall belong to Below Poverty Line families.
  • The students shall be studying in Government, Municipal, Zilla Parishad and Mandal Parishad Schools. The students studying in private recognized schools are also being given admission, if the seats are available.

The admissions into a Pre-Matric Hostel are made as per the following Rule of Reservation.

Provision of Diet Charges:

The Diet Charges provided by the Government are Rs.950/- per month per boarder for Classes III to VII and Rs.1100/- per month per boarder for Classes from VIII to X.

Payment towards purchase of Soaps, Detergents, Oil etc., i.e., Cosmetic Charges: Every month Cosmetic Charges are paid to the boarders @ Rs.62/- per month for Boys of all Classes (i.e., Rs.50/- as cosmetic Charges + Rs.12/- for Hair cut charges) and for Girls from Class-III to Class-VII the cosmetic charge is Rs.55/- and for Girls from Class-VIII to Class-X, it is Rs.75/- .

Materials Supplied to the boarders:

The boarders admitted into Pre- Matric Hostels are provided with free boarding and lodging. Further, four pairs of Uniforms, One set of bedding material comprising Blanket and Carpet, Note Books, Nationalized Text Books, Study material etc., are provided to the boarders every year. In addition, Plate and Glass and Trunk Box are provided to the boarders once in five years.

2. POST MATRIC HOSTELS:

There are (6) College hostels are funcinging in the district, (3) are Boys Hostels and (3) are Girls Hostels.The following hostels are functioning in the District:

Provision of Diet Charges, The Diet Charges provided by the Government is Rs.1,500/- per month per boarder from Intermediate to Post Graduation.

3. PRE-MATRIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR BC STUDETNS

Financial Assistance to Class by providing Pre-Matric Scholarship Rs.1000/- each per annum.

4. POST-MATRIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR BC & EBC STUDETNS

In Mahabubabad District (114) Government and Private Colleges are functioning.The eligibility criteria for getting the Reimbursement of Tuition fee are same as those applicable for BCs i.e., having an annual family income up​​ to Rs.1.50 lakh for Rural and Rs.2.00 lakhs for Urban areas.

  • RTF: Reimbursement of Tuition Fee in full for students pursuing post matric courses approved by the University/Board.
  • MTF: Maintenance charges or Mess charges are sanctioned every month.

5. INCENTIVE AWARD TO INTER CASTE MARRIED COUPLES:

 Under this scheme Rs.10,000/- will be sanctioned towards Incentive cash award for having performed Inter caste marriage either the spouse belongs to BC. This incentive will also be given where both of them belongs to BC community with different the sub-caste of the spouse.

6. SANCTION OF STIPENDS TO BC ADVOCATES

In order to assist the Backward Classes advocates to improve their performance and settle down in legal profession, the Backward Classes Welfare Department is imparting training to BC Advocates in “Administration of Justice”.

Under the scheme, four eligible persons per annum per District are selected and provided training for a period of 3 years. The following assistance is provided to each candidate during the training period.

  • Enrolment fee of Rs.585/-
  • An amount of Rs.3,000/- towards purchase of books and  Furniture
  • A stipend of Rs.1000/- per month for a period of 3 years.​

7. MAHATMA JYOTHIBA PHULE BC OVERSEAS VIDYA NIDHI SCHEME:

Government of Telangana have introduced Mahatma Jyothiba Phule BC Overseas Vidya Nidhi” Scheme to BC Students for pursuing higher studies in other countries i.e., USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Germany, New Zealand, Japan, France and South Korea.

Sanction Proceedings specifying the amount of Rs.20.00 Lakhs will be issued to the individual towards fees and living expenses by way of a grant subject to his/her joining into the Course to the Candidates selected by the Selection Committee.

8. MJPBC RESIDENTIAL SCHOOLS:

The Government of Telangana have accorded administrative sanction for establishment of (119) new BC Residential Schools in the State from the academic year 2017-18, for starting the new Residential Schools @ one in each Assembly Constituency in the State with Classes V to VII from the academic year 2017-18.In Mahabubabad District, there are (6) Residential Schools are functioning i.e., (2) Boys and (4) Girls, the details are shown hereunder:

9.KALYANA LAKSHMI SCHEME:

The Government of Telangana have introduced “Kalyana Lakshmi” Scheme for financial assistance of Rs.1,00,116/- to each unmarried girl belonging to Socially and Economically Backward Classes at time of marriage residing in Telangana State.

11. Economic Support  Schemes for BC’s:

  1. Margin Money Scheme – It is meant for Implementation of Economic Support Scheme to Rural Area people.
  2. Rajiv Abhyudaya Yojana Scheme – It is meant for Implementation of Economic Support Scheme to Municipalities and Corporations people.
  3. Community Services (Dhobi Ghats) – Implementing the Construction of Dhobi Ghats under Community Services.
