About KVK:
The Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Malyal, Mahabubabad District of Telangana State was established during 1989 under the administrative control of Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University and presently under Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University.
The office-cum-laboratory building of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal was formally inaugurated by the Governor of Andhra Pradesh on 5th March 1991. The farmer’s hostel is also constructed and has been commissioned in December 1995.
Mandate of KVK:
- To organize long-term vocational training courses in agriculture and allied vocations for the rural youths with emphasis on “learning by doing” for generating self-employment through institutional financing.
- To organize front-line demonstrations in various crops to generate production data and feedback information
- To organize training to update the extension personnel within the area of operation with emerging advances in agricultural research on regular basis.
- To collaborate with the Subject Matter Specialists of the State Agricultural Universities/ Scientists of the Regional Research Station in “On-farm” testing, refining and documenting technologies for developing region-specific sustainable land use system.
- To develop and organize field days, farm visits, farmer’s fairs (kisan melas), radio talks, etc, with a view to strengthen the scientific information support to farmers.
